Stoichiometry
To find the percent yield of an element, you just divide the actual yield by the theoretical yield & multiply by 100
Stoichiometry
For Stoichiometry, you must convert substance A to moles, use the coefficients of A & B from the balanced equation, & then convert to moles of substance B.
Stoichiometry
Of all the units, I feel like this makes the most sense to me. I'm going to need to study pretty hard to keep my understanding, but I feel pretty confident.

Describing Chemical Reactions
Today we learned how to describe chemical reactions, by using complete and net ionic equations. I think I have an okay grasp on the concept, but I can see myself screwing it up with small errors. The method of solving these problems is fairly simple, but there is a lot of room to make simple mistakes, which is something I have a tendency of doing. I'm going to have to really review polyatomic ions and nomenclature to succeed in this unit.

Class Notes
Today's class notes were ridiculous. I have absolutely no idea ow to do it on my own. I'm going to have to spend a lot of time over thanksgiving break studying this chapter. If anyone has any links or videos to help explain it I would greatly appreciate that.

Yet Another Pre Lab Quiz
Today we had another pre lab quiz. I got the answer right, but I was basically just guessing, I didn't really understand what I was doing. I found this link and it explained the process a lot better, so I understand how and why I got the answer.

Today's Quiz
The quiz today was kind of rough. There were plenty of questions I knew hot to answer, but there were a few that I had no idea how to solve. I'm going to need to study molar mass more and do practice problems on solving for gases, because those were the topics that really threw me. I think (hope!) that I got at least a C on this quiz.

PreLab Quiz
Today in class we had a pre lab quiz. I got the easy question so I got it right, but my partner had a much tougher question. I wasn't completely sure how to solve it, but once Mrs. Frankenberg gave us the data and I worked it out with my partner I understood it a lot better

Beanium Lab
In class yesterday, we did a lab in which we had to find the average mass & abundance of the element "Beanium". First, we counted the total number of beans, & then the number of each type of bean. Then, we found the mass of each type, & calculated the average mass. Finally, we used this information to calculate the percent abundance of each type of bean.

Frontier Chemistry Project
For this project we had to find plants that aided in the healing of many different afflictions, in both the Eastern Deciduous Forest and Tall Grass Prairie habitats. I found it particularly hard to actually locate these plants to take pictures with, as I was not very familiar with any of these plants before the project. If I were able to do this project again I would've gotten all of the research done as soon as possible so that I would have more time to find the plants. I enjoyed being able to put all of my work on Blogger, it made me feel more organized as I was able to keep everything separate. This project taught me how to organize my time and made me better prepared for future projects like this.
